Broadband Migration FAQ
What
is a "Broadband Migration?
Migration
is the term used to move an existing broadband connection from one ISP to
another with minimal downtime.
I
already have a broadband package - can I change to Friaco?
Yes - providing your existing provider will allow the transfer of your
broadband service.
Broadband
Migrations
If you want to switch from your current broadband
service provider, for whatever reason, then Friaco can arrange this for you.
In-order to migrate from your current broadband service provider to Friaco
we will need the following information:
- MAC Number
- Current ISP's Name
MAC
Number
Your current broadband service provider support team
will be able to give you the MAC number for your broadband service. We need
to know this before we can process a migration order. The
format of the MAC is 10 or 12 alphanumeric characters followed by a
"/" and then 5 alphanumeric characters. e.g.
FTIP12345678/CB12N. The
MAC has a a validity period of 30 days from the date of request. Please
ensure that your current ISP does not cease the connection.
Current ISP's Name
This is the legal name of your ISP and not it's
trading name.
Once you have obtained the information above from your current ISP then you
will be able to place your migration order with Friaco.
What happens next?
Once your order has been placed we will email you with
an anticipated activation date. This is the date when your ADSL Broadband
service will be migrated to Friaco. The
whole process takes 5 to 10 days from placing your
migration order to completion. If
you already have your MAC then: Click
